I modeled my exercise after Professor Liu's family journey, as I was interested in visually mapping the respective journeys of both sets of my grandparents and the culmination of my parents meeting and eventually having me. It was interesting for me to see in the exercise the many similarities in the journeys of each of my grandfathers, the similar decisions, destinations, and even a similar timeline to their lives, despite coming from diverse backgrounds.
